Four members of Grand Canyon swimming and diving were honored on the Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

Freshmen divers Lizzy Mcknight and Isaac Poole and junior swimmers Adrian Curbelo and Florent Janin earned Scholar All-America honorable mentions for earning GPAs of 3.5 or better while also either qualifying for a zone meet, in the divers’ cases, or achieving a “B” time standard for the NCAA Championships.

Mcknight, a Business Administration major from Kent, Washington, scored 47.5 points at WAC Championships in February and advanced to the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. At the conference meet, Mcknight tied for second place in 3-meter diving, placed third in 1-meter diving and took fourth in platform diving.

Poole, a Mechanical Engineering major from Shoreline, Washington, also qualified for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships in March. Against the region’s best, Poole finished 10th in the 1-meter diving event and 17th in 3-meter diving.

Curbelo, a Finance major from Spain, starred at the WAC Championships with a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly and a third-place showing in the 200-yard butterfly.

Janin, an Entrepreneurial Studies major from New Caledonia, took a pair of third-place conference finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races.
