On the morning of July 28, Hanoi FC players tested positive for 3 cases, including head coach Chun Jae-ho, Health Minister Kwon Hyuk-jun and goalkeeper coach Nguyen Se-ying. According to V-League rules, the trio will be quarantined and will not be allowed to participate in the Hanoi FC-SLNA match at Hang Day Stadium on July 31.

Mr. Jeon Jae-ho was promoted from assistant coach to head coach on February 19 after compatriot Park Chung-kyun resigned. In the 8 games of the V League in 2022, the Jingcheng team has 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, ranking first with 17 points. SLNA is just one point behind Hanoi FC.

Assistant Nguyen Tien Dung is likely to replace Mr Chun Jae-ho in command of Hanoi FC before the SLNA. The ex-player, who started at the start of the season, is often on the touchline urging the team to play. Mr. Tian Yong has rich experience and worked as a teaching assistant in Hanoi Football Club. He has been under the tutelage of many coaches such as Zhu Dingning, Huang Wenfu and Park Zhongjun, and has continued to be trusted by all coaches since then.

Hanoi FC only lost one player, Truong Van Thai Quy, against SLNA as he received all three yellow cards. With the addition of striker Mujan Tunchi, they no longer have to play without foreign soldiers. The capital team’s left wing is also stronger with Duan Wenhao’s return.
