Marquette Heads To Second Straight Sweet Sixteen With Victory Over Murray St.

After beating Murray St. 62-53, Marquette will head to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. Davante Garder scored 6 consecutive points for the in the second half and Junior Cadougan had 4 assists for the Golden eagles. Darius Johnson-Odom said that these two players made a statement on the national stage tonight. Tess Quinlan has more on why Davante Gardner reminds Jamil Wilson of instant oatmeal at the KFC Yum! Marquette 97 Prairie View A&M 58

Marquette captured its tenth straight regular season opening win, coming away on top of Prairie View A&M, 97-58. Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 18 points, and Jae Crowder continued his consistent play with another strong effort of 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Brad Galli with more from the Bradley Center, including the starting lineup’s game of musical chairs.
