The Marquette women’s volleyball team earned its first BIG EAST Conference victory Sunday afternoon as they defeated Rutgers 3-0 at the Al McGuire Center. MUTV Assistant Sports Director Chris Gaulke talked with Coach Shymansky and Ashley Beyer after the game.

The Golden Eagles continued to roll on Saturday, winning their second straight weekend tournament. Marquette upended cross-town rival UWM by a count of 3-1. MUTV Assistant Sports Director Todd Warner spoke with Coach Shymansky about the team’s confident mentality and Becka Gonyo about setting her career block record.
This team is for real, folks. Marquette stunned MAC powerhouse Western Michigan on Friday, storming back from a tough 2-1 set deficit and winning the opening match of the Panther Invitational. Setter Nikki Klingsborn’s 62 assists set a new career mark and Coach Shymansky thinks she’s comparible to a certain NFL legend.
After four strong victories in a matter of two days, the Marquette University Volleyball team won the MU Invitational. Ciara Jones was named the Tournament’s MVP, and spoke to MUTVSports reporter Adam Sharrett following the final victory over Austin Peay.
In the second match of the Marquette Invitational on Friday, Beccka Gonyo had 17 kills to lead the Golden Eagles over Butler in front of a rowdy crowd. I talked to Gonyo and Leslie Bielski after the match and they said they loved playing with the huge crowd on their side.
